1. About these terms

These terms apply to billboardguide.com and its articles, directories, guides, calculators, checklists and enquiry forms. “BillboardGuide”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean the operator of this website.

Please read these terms before using the site. They set out the basis on which we make it available. If you do not agree, do not use the site or submit information through it. If acting for a business, you must have authority to make the relevant submission or request.

These terms concern this website. A separately agreed written contract governs any paid service or media booking and takes priority for that service if its provisions conflict with these terms. Nothing here removes rights or protections that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.

2. What BillboardGuide provides

We publish news, analysis and practical resources about billboard, OOH and DOOH advertising. We also provide free planning tools and ways to request information, a media plan or a quote.

Editorial content is general information. Although we aim to keep it useful and accurate, coverage may be incomplete and prices, specifications, availability, events and third-party products can change. Check important details with the relevant operator, supplier or qualified adviser before acting on them.

A listing, link or article is not a guarantee that a provider is suitable for your campaign. Our Commercial Disclosure and Editorial Policy explain commercial relationships and editorial standards.

3. Calculators, dimensions and creative reviews

You may use the tools for your own campaign planning and share results with colleagues, clients or suppliers. Keep assumptions, references and limitations with any result you share. Do not present it as a confirmed price, independently audited audience figure or production approval.

  • Cost estimator: results are indicative planning figures based on inventory benchmarks and your inputs. They are not binding offers or reservations. Auction prices, availability, fees, taxes and campaign requirements affect the actual cost.
  • CPM calculator: results compare the costs and impressions entered. The tool does not verify those figures or determine audience quality, unique reach, effectiveness or value. Currency labels do not perform foreign-exchange conversion.
  • Size guide: references cover selected formats and examples, not every installation. Physical size, visible copy area and pixel templates differ. Confirm the current specification, safe area, scale, resolution and finishing with the booked operator or printer.
  • Creative checklist: this is your self-review. The tool does not inspect artwork or certify legal compliance, readability or operator acceptance. Obtain the approvals required for the final file.

You are responsible for your inputs and independent verification before purchasing or producing material. Browser-saved data can be lost when site data is cleared, devices change or storage is unavailable. Download anything you need to keep. Tools do not replace professional advice appropriate to your circumstances.

4. Enquiries and third-party services

Sending an enquiry does not place an order, reserve inventory or oblige you to buy. A response or estimate does not bind a supplier unless that supplier expressly makes a binding offer under agreed terms.

When you request planning, availability or pricing help, we may pass relevant contact and campaign details to a suitable media-planning or inventory partner. We do not guarantee a partner will accept the brief or find suitable inventory. Stated response times are service aims.

Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, any resulting media or service contract is between you and the relevant supplier. Confirm the supplier’s identity, deliverables, measurement basis, fees, payment, cancellation and refund terms before committing. We do not own or control every placement or product described on the site.

External websites and embedded services have their own terms and practices. We are not responsible for their independent actions, subject to any responsibility imposed on us by law for our own conduct.

5. Content and permitted use

Original articles, design, branding and other protected site materials belong to BillboardGuide or their respective rights holders. Photographs, campaign images, logos, videos and third-party data may have separate owners. Their appearance here does not license their use in your advertising or other publications.

You may read the site, link to public pages, keep reasonable copies for your own research, and use tool outputs in business planning. You may quote short extracts with attribution and a link where permitted by law. These permissions do not authorise wholesale republication, resale of our content, image collections or systematic recreation of the site or protected databases.

Ask us before substantial republication or commercial redistribution. Do not remove copyright notices or imply our endorsement without permission. Nothing here restricts copyright exceptions or uses permitted by mandatory law.

6. Materials you submit

You retain ownership of submitted materials. You must have the rights and permissions needed to share them, including personal information, images, logos and assets. Do not submit unlawful, misleading, infringing or harmful material.

Private enquiries and briefs: you permit us to store, review and use the information to handle the request and share relevant details with a suitable partner for that purpose. This does not authorise publication of your private brief. Agree any necessary confidentiality arrangements before sending trade secrets or highly sensitive business information.

Material offered for publication: you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to review, reproduce, edit, excerpt and publish the submitted material in connection with our editorial coverage, including the website, newsletter and promotion of that coverage. Identify required credits and usage restrictions when submitting. This permission applies only to material you are entitled to license.

Submission does not guarantee publication, favourable coverage, payment or a reply. We retain editorial discretion. An embargo request binds us only if expressly accepted; entering a date does not create an agreement. Contact us promptly about errors or material you were not entitled to share.

For a content or rights complaint, provide the page URL, issue, contact details and supporting information through our contact form. We may request clarification or evidence before acting.

7. Acceptable use

Use the site lawfully and without interfering with others. Do not attempt unauthorised access, bypass security, upload malicious code, overload the service, submit spam or false enquiries, impersonate another person, or harvest personal information. Do not use automation to evade restrictions or extract protected material beyond what the law or our written permission allows.

Ordinary linking and responsible indexing of public pages are not prohibited. Report security concerns through our contact form without accessing or disclosing other people’s information.

8. Privacy and newsletters

Our Privacy Policy explains collection, enquiry routing, tool storage, analytics and privacy choices. Newsletter signup is optional and separate from an enquiry. Acceptance of these terms is not consent to optional tracking or marketing.

9. Availability and changes

We may update or discontinue free content and tools, perform maintenance or restrict access to address misuse, security risks or legal requirements. We aim to act proportionately but cannot promise uninterrupted access, permanent availability of a feature or preservation of browser drafts.

We may revise these terms when the service or legal requirements change. The revised text and date will appear here, with additional notice where required. Changes apply prospectively and do not retrospectively alter a separate agreement or remove accrued rights. If you disagree with a change, you can stop using the service.

10. Responsibility and liability

The free site and its resources are provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, we do not promise that every item is complete, current, error-free or suitable for a particular purpose. We do not guarantee campaign performance, sales, audience delivery, approval or a commercial outcome.

For business use, to the extent permitted by applicable law, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss and loss of profits, revenue, business opportunities or anticipated savings arising from use of these free informational resources. This does not excuse responsibilities that cannot lawfully be excluded or obligations expressly accepted in a separate contract.

Nothing excludes or limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or other liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited. Mandatory consumer rights and remedies remain unaffected.

11. Disputes and general terms

Please contact us about a concern so we can try to resolve it. This does not prevent you seeking a remedy from a competent court or authority. These terms do not require arbitration or waive collective rights.

Applicable law and the courts entitled to hear a dispute are determined by the relevant legal rules. Nothing here deprives a consumer of mandatory protections or available courts.

If a provision is unenforceable, the remainder continues to apply to the extent permitted by law. Delayed enforcement does not by itself waive a right. These terms do not create an employment, partnership or agency relationship.

12. Contact

For questions about these terms, permissions or complaints, contact our contact form. For factual corrections, include the page URL and supporting information; see our corrections policy.
