Overview

The 2026 IAB Privacy Compliance Salon runs on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at Hyatt at Olive 8 in downtown Seattle. It is the third annual edition of the Interactive Advertising Bureau's salon for senior privacy, legal, compliance and policy people from across digital advertising.

This is not a broad trade show. It is a smaller, discussion-led forum about how privacy rules are actually implemented: enforcement, data governance, third-party risk, sensitive data, minors' privacy, consent and day-to-day compliance operations.

Why It Matters for OOH and DOOH

The Salon is not an out-of-home conference, but the questions on its agenda sit close to modern DOOH, programmatic OOH and location-based advertising: how location and mobility data is sourced, how audience segments are built, which obligations pass between data suppliers and media platforms, and how campaign measurement data is collected and shared.

It is most relevant to teams working with:

  • Mobile-derived location or movement data
  • Audience enrichment and segmentation
  • Programmatic DOOH buying and selling
  • Cross-device or omnichannel measurement
  • Attribution partners
  • Data clean rooms
  • First-party or partner data activation
  • Identity and consent signals
  • Retail media and place-based media
  • Consumer or household-level data processing

Who Should Attend

OOH and DOOH professionals benefit most when their role touches programmatic infrastructure, audience data, measurement, attribution, data partnerships or privacy compliance. The strongest fit:

  • Chief privacy officers
  • Privacy counsel and in-house legal teams
  • Ad-tech legal and policy teams
  • Compliance and data governance leaders
  • Product leaders who own privacy controls
  • Advertising-platform risk teams
  • Publishers and platforms with third-party data
  • Measurement and attribution providers
  • Identity and consent technology providers
  • Teams handling sensitive, location or audience data

Plan Your Trip

The day runs from an 8:00 a.m. breakfast to a reception that ends around 6:25 p.m., which makes a same-day trip long for anyone outside the Pacific Northwest.

  • Locals only

    Same-day visit

Possible from elsewhere in the Pacific Northwest, but the early breakfast and evening reception make for a long day.

  • Recommended minimum

    One night (Oct 6)

Arrive the evening before so a delayed flight cannot cost you the opening sessions.

  • Best for networking

    Two nights (Oct 6–7)

Stay for the whole reception without racing to the airport afterward.

Practical Tips

  • Don't book an early flight home

The networking reception runs until about 6:25 p.m. If networking matters, stay the night or book a late departure.

  • Confirm breakout eligibility

Both the main Salon and the breakouts have attendee restrictions. Read IAB's current terms before non-refundable bookings.

  • Pack a layer and rain shell

October in Seattle can be cool and wet. You will be indoors most of the day, but not on the walk to Westlake or dinner.

  • Skip the rental car

Between the airport train and the venue's central location, most attendees staying downtown will not need one — and valet starts at $69.

  • Treat the breaks as the agenda

For a specialized audience like this, breakfast, lunch, breakouts and the reception can be worth as much as the panels.

  • Double-check the details

Schedules, speakers, hotel rates, transit times and parking prices change. Confirm with IAB, Hyatt and Sound Transit before you travel.

Things to Do Nearby

The downtown location makes it easy to add a few Seattle landmarks to a business trip.

  • Pike Place Market

    11 min walk

Seattle's best-known market, close enough to visit before dinner or the next morning.

  • Seattle Waterfront

17 min walk, downhill past Pike Place

Continue past the market toward the water for views across Elliott Bay.

  • Seattle Center and Space Needle

20 min walk, or Monorail from Westlake

A quick Monorail hop to the Space Needle, Museum of Pop Culture and Climate Pledge Arena.

  • Capitol Hill

14 min walk east, or a short transit ride

A dense cluster of restaurants, bars and cafés for dinner after the reception.
